About

Atlanta Videographer Reel Cool Filmz

My journey to become a videographer and cinematographer began in the early 70’s.

Growing up the South Bronx, NY. I was the youngest of three siblings.

We had a small 13 inch Black & White TV that my siblings and I would crowd around and indulge in classic movies, commercials and sci fi shows.

I couldn’t wait to get home from school and watch the “4:30 Movie”  on ABC.  Especially if it was “Ape Week” or “Monster Week” when they ran all the Planet of the Apes or Godzilla movies.

And then in 1977 my world changed forever when my Mother took me to see “Star Wars“.

I would re-enact the movie scenes with whatever toys I had from different angles.  If I didn’t have the action figure, I would build them from tin foil or twist ties from the loaf of bread or garbage bags.

I fashioned my Grandmothers sword shaped martini tooth picks as weapons and remixed epic battle scenes as I would have directed.

Movies and television was the medium we used to suppress the grittiness of project life in the Bronx.  It fed my imagination.

My passion for entertainment and what I quantified as entertaining pushed me to take a chance and purchase my first DSLR Camera to interpret what I learned and observed from the greatest directors and cinematographers of my generation.
